Mist projector

IMG_5686.JPG

Our goal is to make a mist maker that will produce a vertical fog screen. There will be a projector linked to the distance sensor on the mist maker. The image of the subject in front of the mist maker will be project to the fog.

The driver we used for the atomizer will produce 160KHZ cos wave(which we can’t produce from Arduino)

Each driver uses a 5v power supply with 2w of energy. A total of 12 drivers were connected in parallel to the power supply, with tip 102 transistors in series on each parallel circuit.

version one

IMG_5655.JPG

In this version, we tried to use a motor with a fan to jet the fog higher. however, the box wasn't sealed enough, the air pressure inside the box was unstable, and a lot of air didn't come out of the nozzle, but instead went out in the opposite direction of the nozzle, which I think is due to the material of the nozzle being too soft, as well as some complex fluid dynamics. In the event of an unsolvable problem, we decisively abandoned this design and we tried to place the atomizer as close to the exit as possible. Relying on the atomizer itself to make the water spray out.

version twoWe used distance data from the distance sensor to change the layout of the pixel from the project to add contrast.
